Yorkhill Euro 2012

Sat 09 Jun 2012

The Yorkhill Euro 2012 Football Tournament takes place at Powerleague in Glasgow on Saturday 9th June 2012 and promises to be a fantastic footballing day out for your five-a-side team. 2011's Yorkhill Champions League was a huge success, with the eventual winners, Arsenal, narrowly beating runners up Rangers, to clinch the title. Thanks to sponsorship from BNP Paribas and Advance Construction Scotland, every penny of the £18,500 raised by the teams who took part went directly to Yorkhill Children's Foundation. In a recreation of the UEFA Euro 2012 Football Tournament, up to thirty-two fives teams will each represent a legendary European team and will play in our tournament to see who will lift the Yorkhill Euro 2012 trophy. The teams being represented will be allocated according to requests on a first come, first served basis as registrations come in. Teams will be placed in groups nearer the time of the tournament depending on how many teams register to take part. To qualify to play in the tournament, your team of seven (five player plus two substitutes) must raise a minimum of £700 sponsorship. This may sound like a lot but it equates to only £100 per player and Yorkhill Children’s Foundation can give you all the support and encouragement you need to reach your target. In return, your team will take part in a brilliant full day of challenging football, including a hearty packed lunch and celebration drinks. You will also receive specially designed, high-quality UhlSport jerseys in your country's colours to wear on the day. The jerseys are sponsored by Glasgow teamwear supplier Kitmania and are yours to keep as a souvenir. There will be prizes for the top three teams, as well as the Player of the Tournament and the Top Fundraising Team.
