Commitment, dedication and sheer hard work were justly rewarded on Thursday 26th October when staff from the White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre (WHLTC), in Abingdon won the FIA Excellence Award during a night of celebration for the 15th annual Commit to Get Fit® campaign.
The “FIA Excellence Award” is for an individual, group of individuals or club/centre that has excelled during Commit to Get Fit 2006, in the sales, marketing or fundraising arena. It is an award to celebrate the hard work, dedication and performance of operational personnel who contribute to the excellent delivery of the campaign.
This award was presented to the team due to the outstanding planning, preparation and execution of the campaign. Award sponsor BUPA commented, "One of the key elements that made your campaign stand out from the other entries was the full staff involvement and commitment.”
The integral theme of full staff involvement continued on the night, when 20 staff were in attendance at the Awards dinner to accept their reward. Mathew Jones, Sales & Marketing Manager for WHLTC praised the commitment of the team. “Such was the level of engagement across all our staff, that I only managed to make three sales myself,” Mathew said, “It really brought the centre to life and sets the bar to a new level for the future.”
Clare Kennedy, CLS Chief Executive endorsed Mathew’s sentiments with, “What a fantastic achievement from a fantastic team!!!!”
Clare, who also attended the Awards dinner continued, “I was so proud to be there to hear the praise heaped on WHLTC's Commit to Get Fit® campaign and to see them receive this prestigious award from footballer Joe Cole.”
