Humber Junior Squash Gearing Up for 2nd Annual Event

The 2nd Humber Squash Junior Closed squash event sponsored by Eon Visual Media is scheduled to be co-hosted at David Lloyd, Hull and Hull and East Riding Squash Club on the 13 & 14 June 2009 at Under 11, 13, 15 and 17 levels for young people who reside in the Humber region.
Over the past two years, the Humber Squash Development Group have delivered a wide range of squash activities across the area to include school taster sessions, local club sessions, ranking days and have also continued to develop the Humber Squash Academy which has seen the formation of an Under 9’s section to complement the other age groups of Under 11, 13, 15 and 17 levels.
With all the above success of developing junior squash, the Humber Closed tournament is seen as an opportunity to provide these juniors with an element of competition and it is hoped a number of new players will be unearthed.
It is envisaged that an open age group competition will be held in early 2010 to attract national players to the area and give our local youngsters the chance to gain national ranking points and achieve national rankings.
