Shooters travel to Alicante for the Alicante Cup

Britain’s top disabled shooters have travelled to Alicante this week to compete in their first international competition since May, following the cancellation of the IPC European Shooting Championships in July.

Among the nine-strong squad is Paralympian Nathan Milgate, rising stars Jean Guild and Andy Gardiner who both made their international competitive debuts earlier this year as well as Bristol’s Karen Butler and Yorkshire’s Chris Summerscales.

The competition, which got under way today (September 16) is taking place in the Delegacion Tiro Olympico in Alicante and concludes on Sunday, September 20.

The full squad competing in Alicante is Nathan Milgate (Herne Bay, Kent), Karen Butler (Bristol), Mandy Pankhurst (Ash, Surrey), Stephen Robertson (Leamington Spa), Richard Davies (Stourbridge, West Mids), Chris Summerscales (Rotherham, Yorkshire), Andy Gardiner (Oxfordshire), Adrian Bunclark (Newton Abott, Devon) and Jean Guild (Southport, Merseyside).

They will be supported by Head Coach and Team Manager, Pasan Kularatne, Development Coaches James Marsh Brown and Louise Minett and Support Staff Louise Davies.
