England has won a third medal at the Commonwealth Games Test Event in Delhi, taking bronze in the men's recurve team competition. Scotland and Wales had to settle for fourth place in the mens' and womens' events respectively. Indeed, the England trio of Rob Halworth, Lee Williams and Jon Shales beat Scotland's Simon Needham, Mark Forrester and James Laing in the bronze medal match, having both been beaten in the semi-finals. Earlier England had beaten Wales - Glenn Bell, Peter Bland and Anthony Nielsen - to set up a clash with host nation India in the semis. The Indians prevailed, and went on to beat Malaysia in the final; the Malaysians beating Scotland in the other semi-final. Jersey's team of Terence Coward, Geoffrey Hairon and Stephen Roche lost to the Scots in the first round. In the women's event, England's trio of Abi Clayton, Louise Colville and Estelle Edwick lost to Singapore, but Wales flew the British flag in the semi-finals, but were well beaten by Malaysia. India went on to take the gold medal, with Singapore beating the Welsh team in the bronze medal match.
