The Berkshire Youth Leagues for 2010/11 have been finalised and the fixtures can be found on the home page of the Youth Leagues section of this website. The significant changes for the new season are:
(a) A second division has been created for U13s, so now there are two divisions at all four age groups
(b) A slight change in the Rule 7.2 means that no players are allowed to play down an age group - where a club has a small age group, the club is still allowed to play players up an age group (as per RFU Regulations). The BYL rules now allow up to 4 players to play up.
As guidance where clubs have a B team entered, it is suggested that 10 A squad players are identified and should not play in B squad fixtures. This should apply whether they have just returned from injury etc and there should not be the situation where county players ever play in the B squad.
This season Janette Tichband will be assisiting in the administration of the BYL and OBB Leagues. Please email Janette jtichband@waitrose.com and myself, stevenjcullen@btinternet.com with results by noon latest on the Monday following the fixture and we will update the tables within hours.
