  • Nolan Partners extends sponsorship of Sport Industry Awards and Nolan Partners Sport Industry Breakfast Club

Two of the most influential figures in British sport will speak at the opening two editions of this year's Nolan Partners Sport Industry Breakfast Club.

Premier League Chief Executive Richard Scudamore will address the first edition of the quarterly gathering of professionals from across the entire spectrum of the British sport industry on Tuesday 20th March, while world champion cyclist, Olympic gold medal contender and BBC Sports Personality of the Year Mark Cavendish will speak at the second event of the year on Tuesday 19th June.

Scudamore and Cavendish will meet with members of the Nolan Partners Sport Industry Breakfast Club during the early morning breakfast networking session, before taking to the stage for a live interview and audience Q&A session. The two leading figures set to speak at the final two dates of the event this year – Friday 7th September and Tuesday 13th November – will be announced in the coming weeks.

The announcement of Scudamore and Cavendish's appearances at the event comes as Nolan Partners confirms its commitment as title sponsor of the series for another two years. The industry-leading sports executive search company has also extended its role as Category Sponsor for the Best Sponsorship of a Sport Team or Individual Award at the Sport Industry Awards on Wednesday May 2nd.

Nick Keller, the Chairman of the Sport Industry Group, commented: "I am delighted to welcome Nolan Partners back as the title sponsor of the Sport Industry Breakfast Club, and thrilled that our members can look forward to starting the year with two such exciting interviews. Richard Scudamore has been at the forefront of an amazing global expansion in the popularity of British football and to hear him discuss the Premier League’s continued success is a very exciting opportunity. And on the first day of this summer's Olympic Games, everyone in British sport will be hoping Mark Cavendish can bring home a gold medal. His achievements in cycling speak for themselves, and having him at the Nolan Partners Sport Industry Breakfast Club just 11 days before the start of this year’s Tour de France will be a truly special moment."

Paul Nolan, Founder of Nolan Partners, said: “Our partnership with the Sport Industry Group stretches back to 2008 and it gives me great pleasure to extend our involvement for another two years. Nolan Partners and the Sport Industry Group share a space at the heart of British sport, and the Nolan Partners Sport Industry Breakfast Club has become one of the most popular events on the industry calendar. Having Richard Scudamore and Mark Cavendish at the opening two events this year will be a thrill both for our members and for me personally.”

Mark Cavendish said: “To compete in sport at the top level is hard work, but to earn a living from it means hard work for a lot of other people – sponsors, agents, broadcasters and the team behind us. This is a huge year for British sport, and I'm sure the sport industry will come together to guarantee it is a great success. I'm looking forward to giving an athlete's perspective at the Nolan Partners Sport Industry Breakfast Club and talking to the industry that makes this all happen.”
