Randall kicks off competition for British Synchro

20th July 2013

Jenna Randall finished in ninth place in the final of the Solo Technical on the first day of competition at the World Championships in Barcelona.

Randall secured tenth place in this morning’s Prelims and worked hard on corrections for the final.

The British number one was swimming to Notre Dame which is an emotional and powerful piece which is mirrored with the
choreography. She showed her talent at getting good height out of the water and speed in the pool.

She finished to a score of 87.500.

“I thought I stepped it up for the final this afternoon and did a really good swim,” Randall said. “It’s a shame about the marks again and I’m not so happy with that ranking. But I’ve spoken to my coaches and they’re pretty happy with how I’ve performed which is important.

“The Free routine will be to a song by Lana Del Ray called Motel Mermaid and basically I’ll be a sexy mermaid. It’s a slow, bluesy feel and I’m really looking forward to it.”
