Bath-based swimmers collect Euro hat-trick
University of Bath-based swimmers won all three of Britain’s medals on the opening day of the European Short Course Championships in Denmark yesterday (Thursday).
Eighteen-year-old Siobhan-Marie O’Connor won silver in the 200m individual medley with a personal best of 2:06.73 at the championships in Herning with training partner Sophie Allen taking bronze.
And moments later fellow British Gas Bath Intensive Training Centre (ITC) swimmer Jemma Lowe won bronze medal in the women’s 200m butterfly.
London 2012 Olympic silver medallists Michael Jamieson broke James Gibson’s five-year-old British record with 57.89 to finish fourth in his 100m breaststroke semi and book a place in tonight’s final.

Six Bath ITC swimmers are competing at the championships, making up half of the 12-strong British team. The championships conclude on Sunday.
